Dec 07 Opening this mix is as if club and rave house lovers got into a fight during a set with the Executioners live in Fishersthingyers basement. The round, heavy yet glitchy baselines (from people in the NE are familiar with the tastes of Rocksteady and Jack McDevitt live) this mix is well thought out, and like such people as Mix Master Mike and other well known turntablists, TJR's cuts, drops and scratching MAKE this mix. His choices are well thought out, timed, in tune with it's surrounding music and the drops actually make sense with the other vocals happening in the other overlapping sounds. Not just "scratching for the hell of it" as some might consider many pop-rap DJs to do as well as the more popular Freaky Flow (for all you jungle heads out there), but it's a well tuned addition to the mix that helps to maintain the presence of the DJ as well as to lead the listener ahead. Fun references to old 80's songs, remixed of course, as well as a wonderful Fatboy Slim remix in the track listing as well. Bounce to this set and enjoy. -J7 www.xbtz.org
